Spectacle d’hologrammes à l’église Saint-Eustache

Dans le cadre du focus Afrique du festival NewImages et à l’occasion du centenaire de sa naissance, l’Institut national de l’audiovisuel (Ina) et le Forum des images rendent hommage à Nelson Mandela.

Juin 1964 à Rivonia, Afrique du Sud : la cour condamne le leader de la lutte contre l’Apartheid et ses compagnons à perpétuité. Un spectacle unique vous installe au cœur de ce procès, recréé en hologrammes et en animation 3D, dans le magnifique cadre de l’église Saint-Eustache. Une expérience en première mondiale réalisée à partir des archives sonores de la plaidoirie de Nelson Mandela et des interventions du procureur Percy Yutar, issues des Archives nationales (NARSSA) du Département des Arts et de la Culture d’Afrique du Sud, numérisées et restaurées par l’Ina et le LARHRA (ENS-Lyon).

As part of the spotlight on Africa, and to mark the 100th anniversary of his birth, l’Institut national de l’audiovisuel (Ina) and the Forum des images will be paying tribute to Nelson Mandela.

Rivonia, South Africa, June 1964 – The court sentences Nelson Mandela, the leader of the struggle against Apartheid, and his companions, to life in prison. Recreated in holograms and 3D in the magnificent setting of the Church of Saint-Eustache, this extraordinary immersive experience will place attendees at the heart of the trial. The show, which will have its world premiere on Thursday 5 April, was created using unpublished audio archives from Mandela’s oral argument, and prosecutor Percy Yutar’s cross-examination. Sourced from the National Archives of the Department of Arts and Culture of South-Africa, these were digitized and restored by Ina and LARHRA (ENS-Lyon).
