In a prescient montage, Abonnenc revisits the archival images of the civil war in Suriname (1986 and 1992), which broke out between Colonel Bouterse, leader of the 1980 military coup, and his former bodyguard, Ronnie Brunswijk, founder of the Jungle Commando.

En compagnie d’un architecte, le cinéaste filme l’ancienne ville minière de Yekepa au Liberia. Ses ruines et les témoignages des habitants ouvrent à une réflexion sur le coût géologique, économique et spirituel de la relation coloniale. 

Together with an architect, the filmmaker depicts the former mining town of Yekepa in Liberia. Its ruins and the residents’ testimonies offer a reflection on the geological, economic and spiritual cost of this colonial relationship.
